|General:||About the location
Tregarvan itself is a small, very quiet and tranquil village. There is a delightful 16th - 18th century church, riverside promenade, moorings where locals keep their boats, and a community hall. At the top of the hill there is the Breton Rural School Museum that is of national significance and well worth a visit. Tregarvan sits below the Menez-Hom mountain, the highest in the region at 330m. On a clear day the panoramic view of the area from the top is breathtaking and well worth the drive up.
At Tregarvan, you can enjoy real French rural life whilst being able to access the lovely towns of Châteaulin (15 minutes) and Douarnenez (20 minutes) to soak up the Bretagne culture and history. The beautiful village of Locronan (20 minutes) and the town of Quimper (45 minutes) are within very easy reach. The city of Brest, the regional capital, and major tourist resorts of Benodet and Concarneau are within an hour's drive.
